Jon Pickard is one of the UK’s busiest classical guitarists, currently much in demand and giving over 190 performances per year. He has given concerts all over the UK as well as in Australia, Portugal and Germany delighting his audiences with his consummate skill and expressive musicianship.

Jon plays music from a wide range of cultures that includes the major works for classical guitar, but also incorporating elements from the Flamenco, Brazilian Samba and Argentine Tango traditions. His two decades of professional playing have seen him develop a style of playing that thrills and inspires all who hear it. Any fan of guitar music will thoroughly enjoy his performance. Jon has studied with Prof. Terry Latham (Head of Guitar, Newcastle Conservatoire, Australia), Richard Hill (who studied with John Mills), Prof. James Woodrow (Classical Guitar, Trinity College London), Kevin Byrne (Flamenco Specialist), and Benjamin Spender (Head of Classical Guitar, Bath Spa University).

In 2002-05 he graduated as a mature student from Bath Spa University and gained a First Class degree in Classical Guitar Performance. During this time he increased his Classical repertoire and also further studied Flamenco and South American styles.

He now lives in Bruton Somerset with his wife and two children and works across the UK as a Classical performer, giving concerts and playing at all manner of public functions, as well as teaching guitar.
