Organ Concert given by David Slater – Saturday 13 September, 7pm
INQUE MODUM TONITRUS VOX FERREA VERBERAT AURES
2025 is 'Play the Organ Year', a project aiming to increase the number of people playing the organ, or at least appreciating its music. The distinguished British organist Anna Lapwood is Patron of the campaign and writes in Organists' Review: 'The organ is a unique and fabulous instrument, and we want as many people as possible to discover how truly thrilling it is to play one.' July this year marked twenty years since David Slater became full-time organist at St Mary's, and he estimates that he has played for over a thousand services (including weddings, funerals and memorials) but has only given four or five recitals! Come along and immerse yourself in the fascinating musical world in which the organ lives – you won't be disappointed.
Tickets: £10 from Bruton Convenience Store, or £12 on the door, and there will be a bar available.
