O'er the Green Cornfields
On Sunday 8 March, 3pm, at St Mary’s Church, Bruton, Clare Sydenham and David Hindley return with a brand new recital programme in their popular format of piano music, poetry and prose, this time on the theme of Spring.
O’er the Green Cornfields is now their sixth programme together, following on from On the Idle Hill of Summer and A Christmas Box of Delights. The programme takes us from Chaucer to Bertie Wooster, through William and Dorothy Wordsworth’s separate reactions to the Grasmere daffodils; from ‘Elizabethan’ Warlock to 20th Century Jazz. Join them at St Mary’s for a Sunday afternoon recital of specially chosen piano solos, poetry and prose to celebrate the joy of Spring.
