An eclectic, 4-piece, acoustically electrifying orchestra playing gypsy & folk-flavoured music from all around the world, the BCO deliver traditional Balkan, Russian, Hungarian and Romanian traditional gypsy and folk music in their own fresh and surprising way. Established by award-winning British composer, violinist and teacher Christian Garrick in 2009, BCO are specialists of the ‘distilled concerto’, e.g. the Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Greig Squeezebox Concertos, and admired for their artful re-workings of masterpieces by the greats of the Romantic era.

A talk by Daniel Hill, Rewilding Ranger at Heal, Somerset about the rewilding of a former dairy farm near Bruton.

Wednesday 3 June, 6.30 for 7pm, upstairs at The Prickly Pear.

Join us in St. Mary’s Church, Bruton, for a very special performance of Henry Purcell’s opera. With a cast led by rising international star Rebecca Leggett in the title role, Bruton Choral Society led by Barbara Jenkinson, and a baroque instrumental ensemble led by Maggie Faultless, this promises to be a night to remember.

A bar will be available for audience members to purchase drinks and there will be an opportunity to meet the soloists and orchestra after the performance.

We are very excited to be welcoming back the amazing Aurin Girls’ Choir for a concert on Monday 29 June, 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Bruton. From the Kodály Music School in Kecskemét, Hungary these girls and the younger Miraculum Children’s Choir have visited Bruton many times and delighted us with their excellent performances. The choir has an outstanding international reputation and have won many 1st prizes including at the World Choir Games (China) and at the Llangollen Eisteddfod.

Lumos brings you enchanting concert experiences paying homage to world famous artists. We’ve partnered with  spectacular locations & churches across the UK to deliver a concert experience that is nothing short of magical. This Is The Kit’s music places companionship at a premium, so being welcomed into its space feels like an obvious privilege, on record and in concert hall with her stellar supporting cast of Rozi Plain (bass), Jamie Whitby-Coles (drums) and Neil Smith (guitar). And at this current point in our confusing history, continuing to be here at all, to stand tall and make music to gather to, that’s a heroic act. Joyful survival as an act of time-wasting, I’ll take that any day of the week.
